Just wanted to update everyone of a new project of mine, baby bump infrared photography.  Hopefully in the next few weeks I’ll get a willing mom-to-be for this exciting project!  So if you’re in the NY Metro area, young and fun, let me know!

I found a very interesting infrared nude gallery by Karin Rosenthal which is of the macro scale with nudes to create some very nice abstract art.  I would suggest checking it out, as it is not erotic at all, but is still beautiful fine art infrared.

I was just surfing around the net and I noticed that of what came back, even around page 10, the predominant number of links were to books about infrared photography, rather than to infrared photography itself.  This leads me to wonder if there are more authors for infrared photography than photographers.  It is sort of the inverse of the food chain, where there would be more consumers than producers.  I’m hoping I’m wrong, or maybe it’s just because many infrared photographers don’t post to their own work.

So with that said, if you have some infrared work you would like to share, let me know and I’ll post it if I feel it is really good.

I found a very nice collection of B&W Infrared Photography by Steve Hames.  He makes use of very heavy contrast in his pictures.  Collections from Mexico, Rio Linda and other places are in his galleries.

I got my 20D back which had been converted to infrared by LifePixel.com.  Unfortunately it’s all raining here in the North East, so I can’t test it out. Tomorrow it should be beautiful, so I’ll take it out to Pepsi Garden and up to Pierson’s Point in Bear Mountain Park.

As from her main site, shot with the Olympus 2100UZ and the Hoya R72 infrared filter – most have been then toned with Photoshop, using quadtones, or channel mixing, or various other color change methods.
